The Magpie Cafe in Whitby
So the second restaurant we visited on our mini staycation was The Magpie in Whitby, now if you’re from Yorkshire or have been to Whitby, you’ll know that people are always queuing out the door to visit here!
I’ve visited Whitby so many times and always been put off by the long queues so I booked well in advance so we could have a trip here
We ordered the seafood pot for starter.
It had salmon, mussels, scallops, prawns cooked in a liquor of wine, butter and garlic served with bread.
I absolutely love seafood so this was the dream 😍
we then ordered an oyster each which were also delicious but I know they’re not for everyone! I chose mine grilled with garlic butter.
Mains was such a hard choice as there were so many amazing seafood dishes on offer but I just had to try their fish and chips! I had a small portion and we then shared mushy peas.
The fish and chips were beautiful cooked and mine were almost as big as Alex’s normal size! I had this paired with a delicious white wine that was recommended by the waitress
I was so glad to finally visit and it really lived up to my expectations!
The social distancing measures in place were fab, clear screens between every table
Already can’t wait to go back to try more of their menu! The perfect restaurant for seafood lovers seafood
